League Rules

  1. All clubs shall register a minimum of 10 players per team with the league secretary prior to their first match of the season.
  2. Registered members of any team shall not be allowed to participate-in any other team.
  3. Clubs found to be playing unregistered players shall incur a penalty decided by the disciplinary committee.
  4. Teams must register a minimum of 10 players and could turn up to play league matches with a minimum of 7 players. If a team arrives short, the names of players available will be put in a hat and as many as required to make up the 10 will be drawn out, i.e. if 8 turn up, 2 names will be drawn out and those 2 will play twice. The team captain could then select his team with the additional penalty that no one could skip twice.
  5. All games shall be played to WSMBA rules and should be covered by an official umpire. As a temporary measure, if no official umpire is available, any person mutually agreed by both captains will arbitrate and his/her decision will be final and binding.
  6. Games shall start between 7.30 and 8.00 p.m. No playing member shall participate if arriving after the 8.0 p.m. deadline.
  7. Visiting teams shall have the choice of mats. Only two mats to be allocated for league games. No player to be allowed on the mats until commencement of play.
    1. Singles and pairs to be played at the same time, as will the triples and fours. Home captain shall have the choice of which are played first. Singles and pairs, 12 ends per game. Triples and fours, 10 ends per game.
    2. A team player sitting out during a league game can fill the score card during a pairs match. (This person has to be a team player)
  8. Uniform coloured discs or club stickers are to be used on all woods being played. On no account are County or Welsh stickers to be used on woods in the League or County competitions.
  9. Two points will be awarded for each game won and one for a draw. Should 2 teams be level on points at the end of a season there will be a play-off to decide 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in the League.
  10. All scores shall be phoned through to the League secretary by the Monday following matches. Score sheets to be forwarded by the home captain as soon as possible. The sheets to be signed by both captains.
  11. Maximum number of trophies per team shall be 12, minimum qualification of 3 games.
  12. In the event of a club having to drop out of the League part way through a season, due to being expelled, their playing record shall be expunged.
  13. All games must be played, any re-arranged matches in both halves must be completed in that half after the due week-ending date. In the event of a cancelled fixture date the home captain must rearrange a date in consultation with the away captain. Three successive cancellations by any team for the fixture will result in the offending team incurring a PENALTY which will be:-
    1. The deduction of 4 points from the offending teams total league points.
    2. The awarding of 4 points to the non-offending team.
  14. All cancelled games to be notified to the county organiser by phone and followed by letter. (Phone number and Address available on league score sheet)
  15. All cancelled games must also be notified to the Umpire involved. (Phone number available on umpires0 rota list sent to clubs)
